Thank you for sharing with us Hunnie. I watched bits and pieces here and there because I love the character Ah Zhu. Jia Qing did a fine job in the role. She is better as Ah Zhu then Ah Zhi. Although dressed with simple garments (which I don't even consider to be clothing) and a simple hairstyle I really like her and was saddened to see her demise. I wished the serial emphasized her martial arts a bit more though. I know she is not a good or outstanding fighter but I always wished to know how good is her martial arts really (same goes with Ah Bi).
Although she is a maid but her master comes from the Murong family and she was able to seal the acupoints of a few monks from Shaolin as well. But other then that her martial arts ability has not been explored yet again (this happens in every adaption). Although there is one funny thing someone brought up about Ah Zhu. Well Qiao Feng is one of the strongest characters in the story. Ah Zhu suffered one fatal blow that killed her because he pretty much went all out. How on earth did the girl manage to survive a few moments to say goodbye and give off her final speech to him? She must have had some strong hidden internal energy going on because any normal person would die instantly.
The Korean actor who plays as Duan Yu is very annoying and I hate him. He is also ugly and has overacted many scenes. I could be biased because I don't even like the character himself from the novel. The actress who plays as Wang Yu Yan is not pretty enough in my opinion. Now I am just waiting for Gao Yuan Yuan and Alyssa Chia to come out.
I felt the same like you LianNiChang. I really liked Jia Qing acting as Ah Zhu. Really didn't care for Wang Yu Yan, I always expect her to be very super attractive. She's supposed to be the hottest girl in the series. It's weird how a maid ( Jia Qing ) looks better then her? They really need to work on their girl's selection. Zhang Meng is not beautiful enough for the role, not no Wang Yu Yan material.
I didn't like Duan Yu because Kim Ki-bum looks too girly for the role. Not because he's Korean, I agreed that there's many handsome looking Korean guy for the role. But I honestly think its the budget thing. They wanted international fans and it was already costing them a leg and an arm to cast Wallace Chung in here. Kim Ki-bum fit their budget and will pull in those young Korean teen viewers. Those two pairing was kind of a big disappointment for the whole series since they are one main pair.
I didn't get to watch the third pair, so I can't say much for them. I did get to see Alyssa Chia for a little bit and she definitely looks hot in here. Didn't see Gao Yuan Yuan either with my random scanning.
