As the new forum settings only allows 20 pictures max I had to split it into 2 parts.
Hiked up another one called Pnom Bakaeng. There's a really old temple up here and it's a spot to watch the sunset and that is what we did. The biggest problem is that there were thousands of people up here with us so it can get really crowded.
My dad visited a TV station at the request of my grandma to help find a certain relative. You can probably find us in a youtube clip under title "Khmer news Hang Meas HDTV 30 December 2014- Part" at 10:25 into the clip.
Next we visited the palace in Phnom Penh. Be very careful here as they have a strict dress code and some parts of it restricts the use of cameras. I almost got my camera taken away because I didn't see the sign as crowds of people was blocking it.
Apparently this is where royalties are buried. There's several more of these around the palace.
I was surprise to see this earth clock right in front of Wat Thom in Phnom Penh and yes it does work.
I didn't dare take pictures inside this Khmer National Museum as I was still traumatize from earlier in the palace so outside courtyard was all I could take.
Next we spent some time relaxing at the beach in Sihanoukville. The beaches here are overcrowded and because of that it is kind of dirty. I recommend going to Keb since it's cleaner there and less tourists. I do like the seafood here as it is cheap and fresh but do stay away from tap beer as I was messed up really bad drinking it. They probably didn't clean it well.
There's a nice river with waterfalls a few miles off of Sihanoukville. You can stay in these huts to relax for about 5,000 riel. There's even a phone number there so you can call and order food to be deliver to your hut.
Next we visited a temple above Pnom Ream at the recommendation of a restaurant we stop by earlier where my dad drank with the locals and was offering my hand in marriage to their daughters. I was so embarrassed I was speechless.
Apparently my old man was so drunk he slept right there while I went exploring.
My mom had a long conversation with the monk here and I got blessed here again for the 3rd time this trip. I had 3 strings tied on to my right wrist and after 4 months one fell off.
There are sculptures all over this place. Each is a folklore that most of us probably knew from young.
We visited Pnom Bokor next as I heard the view up there is heavenly.
It seems we came at the wrong season as even the local waterfall was dry. The locals said to come here during the rainy season is when it is most beautiful.
