VIP are mostly uploaders and we have a bit of an extra privilege over gold, I think.

VIP member = Very important people since they contribute uploads for the site.
Gold member = Top trusted member since they been in and out the site for a long while and participating on the forum.

I start upload since the old site, khmeraccess i believe, i just upload.P.S - i dont think that VIP should be open just to anyone that want to be an uploader, i like to see them upload a lot before becoming a VIP, too many videos are goin down than up, i like to see more video by those who want to be an uploader then will be a vote by admin and upload to promote them as one of the uploader.
Gold members does look better than VIP, even silver members too...

It isn't the problem that we stand out more or not, it because of people that are reporting it in because we put up some good video and they're jealous of us. The banner has nothing to do with anything beside saying here are the up-loaders in this website and the best up-loaders out there for being out good video, nice HD graphic and as a good communication with the visitors, members and the staff. I would prefer to put password on the video's from 2+ until they join, it would indicate who is here just to watch the videos and who is active but the points of posting in the forum, i honestly dont or hardly answer the post at the video site rather in the forum more because i see who is active and who we know that wouldn't ratter us out. Right now, i want to water mark my video but i still don't know how lol.
We can ask admin to change the color of our banner? Usually in forums, red is the color for admin/mod.

If safety is everyone's concern, I think leaving the strict post requirement is it's best choice. The 30 post for silver is very low. It's not that hard to get there. 50 post is easy too. 100 post to be trusted is the best shot to go.

150 should be the point for silver, 300 for Gold. VIP member does not have post count, but it depends on how many videos you put up and the vote of VIP members to vote if you should be a Silver or Gold early than the posts that is need to become in that position. As of right now, we have a good up-loaders and i want to keep it that way.

I think the Admin kind of already has his rule set on the requirement for the posting. I'm sure he's open to all suggestion, but will come up with a fair requirement.

i didn't know it ws 500 Gold, i'm up to that much. The more harder for people to get as a regular members the better, i mean i like video to be shown but i dont like those that come here just for that, interact with fellow members is something that help the forum build up reputations.
The Admin has set his rule because he haven't heard any suggestions, so i would think it just a temporary rules. I dont think any Admin(s) would place rules without hearing his fellow staffs for idea and suggestion to make it better, after all, nobody want a loop when it come to having rules.

I appreciate all the feedback everyone. I am taking all suggestions from the community into consideration and the forums will be run this way. There are no official rules yet, so we can make adjustment along the way. Currently:
1. I will be removing this "refer a member" option.
2. Gold requirement is currently at 500 posts. We can adjust this number.
3. Silver requirement is currently at 30 posts. It is very low to attract new members. Requirement will be set higher next month to a number we can all agree with.
4. VIP is obtained by at least 3 months of active uploading. But we can use Chris' suggestion on this.

I think VIP is something that most of us should focus on because its the uploader for our site, i dont want anyone to become a VIP then get mad over any little stuff then leave taking the video they had uploaded then removed... if you going to be upload for this, then should deducate to it too.
