I recently rebooted my computer. My old BS player played all avi files. Now, I'm having difficultly playing all the avi files. I downloaded tons of English series that uses avi format, now BS player does not recognize them as videos but audio only. I have been at it for hours. I tried everything downloading, installing and re-installing ffdshow codes, DivX, and xvid. Nothing is working for me. If anyone can help that would be great.

Use VLC instead it is the best player and it is free.
Here is the link. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

If you still want to use BS Player go to torrent If you have access, that is it is not blocked by your service provider.
http://thepiratebay.se/search/bs player/0/99/0
and use torrent client to donwload follow instruction there for the crack it should work fine.
But why use anything else whe VLC play anything without a need for codec plug-in.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I did download and try VLC too but the video still didn't work. It gave me an error message.
I'm going to try your next suggestion for the torrent file. Thanks again for your help.

I c, Interesting that avi is the most common container. Try this
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/11167443/K-Lite_Codec_Pack_10.8.0_(Full)
after installation you can basically play a lot of thing in media player.
Perhaps use this "Aimersoft Video Converter Ultimate" to convert your video with this software you can set up your conversion in batch.

Omg it works! I downloaded the K-lite codec pack and everything works now. I really love you for this! i have been trying for the past couple of weeks to get my BS player working like normal again. Thank you so much for all of your help and patience. I really appreciate it. You're a life saver!

The real reason why your old computer played AVI extension files is because you probably had codecs installed in your system. After "rebooting," or reformatting your system and installing a new operating system, you essentially lose the codecs in order to play various video files.

Others above have mentioned about VLC player. I also vote for VLC player because it's extremely robust. You can even use it as a home media server. But for the sake of your needs, VLC will play almost anything, kinda like an old friend who would fuck any chicks that walk.

Now, if you're torn by the change and would like to roll back to BS Player since its interface pleases your eyes over VLC player, you can always download codecs. You can go here for it.
