awesome specs groupon! what is Lion 10.8.3 ???? must be an OS, go figure. yeah I love building computers, it keeps my mind off the negatives LOL..I'm on my second build now, it's a long project, as I'm in no rush to finish. are you currently working on a build yourself? I need to get a second HDD just for laugh and giggles. bro, get your hands on an SDD if you already haven't. It makes a huge difference, especially on Win8 bro. kudos!

Mountain Lion is MacOSx from Apple. My spec is capable of installing MacOSx. Currently dual booting. I start building pc since Windows 98 lol.. The only SSD I had was on my Mac Mini. I replace original mac hd w/ssd and upgrade to 8gb ram. :) Basically, i bought the basic mac mini and did an upgrade myself.

Actually i have 3rd hd for ubuntu. hehehe.. I just started a yr ago cuz needed to hack htc one s

hm, seem everyone use more a table computer :)
Right now use my laptop, doesn't need to use my table computer that use more for torrent.

what are some of the reasons for running ubuntu, linux, and lion as oppose to just running windows? what's the main difference?

From my experience, Ubuntu/Linux is more stable and has better support than Windows, also its free ;). As for Mac, they have better video, photo, editing capabilities than windows does and less viruses.

I use windows because I play a lot of games, almost all PC games are designed for Windows with a few exceptions. I play a lot of MMOs and other CPU/GFX intensive games. :)

I'm actually not done with this build, plan to add liquid cooling on the the cpu/gpu's after I'm done with another project (AMD budget build). Maybe add more RAM later. Also, plan to swap out the ASRock mobo with ASUS. :D Like to add liquid cooling to RAM also.

I'm not a PC enthusiastic like most of you on here but my current notebook is a:

Asus N56V
Intel Core i7 2.3Ghz
8GB Ram
GeForce GT 650M GPU

Hate me but I'm running Windows 8 and don't plan on upgrading to Windows 7 lol. I will be sticking with the Windows 8 ecosystem including with my next windows 8 phone and Xbox one.

Not a PC gamer here...console for life. :)

@ thahappycamper, your list is huge :) . As Rock stated, those OS are free except Mountain Lion but than it's cheaper than Windows application. I use Linux for only hacking/patching my smartphone so I can flash any firmware or custom ROM without bricking my phone. Mountain Lion, just to have it on and show off that's my pc include real Mac app w/out spending thousand plus on purchasing Apple computer lol.​

Can you do a tutorial on installing Linux and flashing firmware on smartphone? That would be cool....and quite useful also how to hack a wii....
