A lot of Greek food is based off of Olive Oil. The lamb they make is really awesome, and they are really friendly people.

My Chinese boyfriend enjoy eating Cambodian food so I'm lucky because I get to eat it on a regular when we go out.

Most Cambodian food are fairly easy to cook and they comes in very big portion, like a whole big pot of goodies. My boyfriend don't ever care what I cook as long I cook something. :D

I don't know what it calls but the Cambodian sticky cake with a triangle shape and it has coconuts and seamen seed inside. Just love that. I remember I ate only during Khmer new year.

I don't have a problem with lamb, I enjoy it a lot. Most people would probably pick lamb over prahok anyday.

Why seafood? My doctor told me to avoid salt. They said salt make you swelling

Increased risks of allergic reactions and seafood contains iodine.

During wound healing, our body is weaker than normal and the "new skin/flesh" that is granulating is more sensitive than the "old skin/ flesh" so even a small amount of iodine in the blood can cause serious allergic reaction i.e.-reddness, itchiness, swelling. when such allergic reaction (aka inflammationary reaction) starts the "new" sensitive skin/flesh will step up to step 2 of the process by trying to "flush" out the irritant out of the system. in that case we will start to see fluid coming out from the wound. over days, the fluid will become pus. *eekkk* why so? i believe its 2 fold, 1- the iodine is still lingering in the blood system thus reaction continues, 2- the wound is not cleansed thoroughly and frequently enough.

I think most khmer person would pick prahok over lamb. Many of the other nationality I dated don't consume lamb because they think it's too gamy; but they will try and eat prahok. (y) Just giving my 2 cent. :D

i totally disagree. lamb if u cooked it right u can't really smell it. prahok is a deadly smell loz. i have a white family nd 80% of my friends that r not asian won't even eat prahok. Lambs is an expensive meat. u go to all the fancy restaurant, they will always have that n likely one of the most expensive dish in there. but again, its where u live or the kinda ppl u know..just giving my 2 cent lolz

lolz I had lamb meat at Disneyland including nice restaurant, where I made reservation to eat there. It didn't taste to perfect like my homemade prahok. I wouldn't order it over any meat out there, because it doesn't cater to my preferences. Prahok might smell deadly to you, but it's home sweet home to me, because it's in my tradition passed several generation back where it's not going to change. I believe that you have your 2 cent but I was also responding to my 2 cent on what I like.

It's nice that your people enjoy lamb, but it doesn't justify what my circle of people like. (y) I believe I did mention that most khmer people still prefer prahok over lamb. ;) I do like to continue that tradition while others think otherwise, it won't change what people think over here. Just putting in my 5 cent. :cigar:

People who can't stand the smell of prahok, khmer people are substituting anchovies to make it (y) to cater to those who can't stand the smell, but would love to eat it.

It totally work, you're still using fish in the recipe since anchovies are fishes (y)(y), and there are no smell.
Still totally taste good. :D

It won't take all day to make prahok with anchovies, same amount of time. ;)
