Commoner
The next day we woke up at around 7am and was out on the train by 8am. It took us about 2.5 hours traveling west from Tokyo to get to old town Kamakura.

Next we head out to Kotoku-in Temple to observe The Great Buddha statue.

We spent some time afterwards visiting nearby areas and the Hasedera temple.

Before we left, we had to try the local specialty dish of shirasudon for lunch.

We took the train back for 2 hours but instead of going back to the apartment, we went towards Asakusa. This place is famous for the Kaminari-mon that leads to the Sensoji temple.

There is a long row of shops in between the gate and the temple.

There's always a lot of people here since it's a major tourist spot.

Spotted a major landmark, the Tokyo Sky Tree.

After looking for so long, I finally found Japan's famous beer vending machine.

Before we head back, we decided to have dinner at Asakusa branch Gyu-Kaku. There's 2 location in Chicago downtown that I frequent. Usually we'd spend about $130 there with the 3 of us but here the bill ended up with only $42 with the meat quality being just as good or even better.
