I am a big fan of Qing Dynasty settings (with fighting and Kung-Fu of only of course) and I personally quite like it. Although the storyline does move at a snail's pace but the serial isn't that long so it's not too draggy. So far things are picking up, poor Cecelia died though. The only complaint I have is the lead actress is not very pretty, and she can't really act that well either. Also I don't like the slow-mo effects all the time. The lead actor is quite cute though, but I don't know if it's his acting or his character but he seems bland at times. I think I started watching this serial because the 3 HK actors though, but Yuen Biao hardly has any screen time and why waste this chance for him to show his fighting skills. He doesn't even do any fighting yet, all he does is hide. Overall not the greatest but not the worst though. I never watched a TV serial based on Fang Qi Niang before though so I don't know how close the serial is to real history.

I just finished watching last night and overall, I think it's quite vanilla. I'm not sure if it's a character development issue but I feel like something is missing. Aside from the last fight scene, the others were quite lacking. Just like you said, Yuen Biao has been wasted from beginning through end. I think it could've been better though.

I will add the rest tomorrow.
